AGM: Our annual general meeting will take place this Friday 29th November at 8pm in our clubrooms, all players, members and intending members are requested to attend. This is your chance to have a say about anything in the club from how it is run to the way the team plays, or maybe you want to come on board the committee or share some of your ideas to help the club. This is the night to do it, so if you’re interested come along.

Manager: The club has appointed Wayne Callan as manager of our senior championship and division 2 team. Wayne is familiar with our team as he did some training with us during the 2012 season for our then manager Wayne McKeever. He has previously trained a few teams in Louth and was manager of the Geraldines in 2017. We wish him every success with our club for the 2020 season.

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 27th November at 8.00pm, jackpot €1,200 in 48 numbers.

Final: Congratulations to Mattock Rangers, who have reached the final of the Leinster Intermediate Club Championship. They will play Mullinavat from Kilkenny in Drogheda on Saturday 7th December.

O’Byrne Cup: The draw for the 2020 O’Byrne Cup has taken place with Dublin getting a bye into the semi-finals. The groups are, Group 1 Kildare, Longford, Carlow & Wicklow. Group 2 Laois, Offaly & Wexford. Group 3 Meath, Louth & Westmeath. Louth will play Meath on Sunday 7/12/19, Offaly on 14/12/19 and Westmeath on 4/1/20, all games have throw in times of 2pm. The semi-finals are to be played on 11/1/20 with the final pencilled in for the 17th or 18th of January, all knockout games will be winner on the day fixtures.

Finals: The U20 football championship is set to take centre stage at Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day in place of the All-Ireland club senior finals. It is believed that either the All-Ireland U20FC final or a semi-final double-header will take place at headquarters next March 17th, depending on the scheduling of the provincial games. The staging of the club finals in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day have been a tradition since the mid -1980s but they are set to be moved to January with the GAA eventually hoping to have them wrapped up before Christmas in years to come. Saturday week’s Central Council meeting is expected to see the U20 proposal approved when discussions take place for the 2020 fixtures plan.
