CLAN NA GAEL 1-17
HUNTERSTOWN ROVERS 1-15
Clan na Gael set up a meeting with St Mochtas in the quarter-final of the Louth Intermediate Championship after coming through their replay on Saturday night.
Once again it proved to be a tight affair but the Dundalk men hit back from an interval deficit before coming out on top.
The Clans got off to a great start with a Conall McKeever point followed by a Billy Smith goal to put them in the driving seat. However, Hunterstown soon found their rhythm and they hit back with points from Ryan Burns and Tony McKenna before a goal from Burns had is side leading by 1-3 to 1-1.
The Clans hit back to level through Robbie Curran and Mark Newell, but Hunterstown finished the half on top and points from McKenna and Ryan Ward had them leading by 1-7 to 1-4 at the break.
It looked for much of the second half that Rovers were on their way to the last four as Ryan Burns helped maintain that three-point cushion.
However, the Dundalk men refused to give up and with four minutes remaining had cut the gap to 1-14 to 1-13, before late points from Curran, Newell, McKeever and Reece O’Hanlon saw them snatch victory.
