Geraldines GFC Club Notes Monday 11 March
Our Senior men are in the Quarter Final of the Paddy Sheelan Cup this week. Please show your support
on Tuesday night as we play St Mochtas at home with an 8pm throw in.
Senior Ladies got their season off to a good start with a 2-18 to 2-04 win over Martins/Glen Emmets.
Congratulations to former Gers player, Jimmy Dunne on his call up to provisional Ireland squad for the
upcoming competitive internationals. Best of luck Jimmy from all your friends in the Gers.
Our U10 boys attended another very well run event by Louth GAA at DKIT on Saturday. 20 boys
participated therefore we were able to field 3 teams; boys put in very strong performances, some of
them registering their first points and goals for the Gers.
Congratulations to Caoimhe and Megan, who won their All Ireland Colleges Title on Friday. Congrats
also to Dan Corcoran who played with DCU in their great win over rivals UCD. DCU are into the
prestigious Billings All Ireland final.
Louth u14 girls played Wicklow on Saturday; well done to Karina Corcoran for being part of the squad.
Unfortunately Wicklow walked away the winners, better luck next time Louth.
Our U16 and U14 girls travelled to Silverbridge recently for challenge games, both of which were played
in adverse weather conditions. Well done to all who made themselves available and took part; these
games are very important for the club and provide additional playing opportunities and development for
our players.
Geraldines GFC will be taking part in the Blackrock St. Patricks Day Parade on Sunday 17 March. Please
join us and walk alongside our float in your club colours. Meet time 215 pm at Cocklehill. It promises to
be a great day.
