Naomh Fionnbarra club notes & St Annes Camogie club notes

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 30th January. The winning numbers were 8, 12, 13 & 26. There were 2 match 3 winners Frankie Fairclough, Castle Lane and Jerry reneghan, Ardballon who won €75 each. Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000. Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member. Funds raised from our Lotto draw go towards the running of the club and your support is greatly appreciated.

 

With Round 1 of the league done and dusted there were 30 of 150 entrants eliminated from Naomh Fionnbarra's Last Man Standing

The breakdown of selections for week 1 were as follows:  Dublin - 9, Galway - 45, Kerry - 4, Mayo - 19, Monaghan - 6, Roscommon - 3, Tyrone - 2, Armagh - 3, Clare - 1, Cork - 4, Donegal - 38, Kildare - 4, Meath - 8 & Tipperary - 4.

 

Well done to the Louth Senior team and to our own Hugh Osborne who appeared as a substitute v Laois on Saturday at Croke Park in the Second Round of the League as they recorded a fine victory on a scoreline of 3-8(17) to 1-9(12).  

 

 

The Naomh Fionnbarra Intermediate men are back training in preparation for the season ahead.  Any players over 17 years of age are welcome and training is on Tuesday and Friday nights at 8pm at the John Markey Park.  Intermediate selectors have been confirmed to work alongside team manager Ciaran Conlon, they are Mark Devlin and David Woods.  Div 4 selectors to be appointed at a later date.  The lads have achallenge game v Clan na Gael in Dundalk at 8pm on Thursday evening in their first game of the year.  The draw for the Paddy Sheelan Cup has been made and the club have been drawn in Group E with Naomh Martin, Mattock Rangers and Hunterstown Rovers.  The first game is v Naomh Martin in Monasterboice on Saturday 16th February at 7:00pm.  

 

 

2018 season is off to a great start for the Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies team.  Joint-Managers Alan McMahon and Stuart Reynolds along with selector Andrew Rodgers are welcoming new players to join the panel.  Training is on Wednesday nights from 8:00-9:00pm at John Markey Park and on Friday from 8-9pm at DKIT Gym for Spinning Class.  If interested contact Marie on 0876528898.  

 

Naomh Fionnbarra walking/running track around the field at John Markey Park is open for use.  Floodlights will be turned on at the track on Monday, Tuesday and Friday evening between 8-9pm and members of the public are welcome to use the track.  Togher Fit to run Group use the track for training on Monday nights and encourage anyone interested in running training to join in.  All users of the track must be members of the club (either Full or Social members) to cover insurance costs.  The track will be open for use for both Full and Social members all year round.  

 

The club are hosting membership registration days on Sunday 17th February in Dillonstown Hall between 11:30am and 1:00pm and on Friday 23rd February between 7:00am and 8:30pm at the clubrooms in John Markey Park for men, ladies, juveniles and camogie sections.  All players and members who wish to renew their membership are welcome to attend on either day.  Membership Fees are as follows:  Adult Player (Men/Ladies/Camogie) €75, Non Playing Full Member €50, Social Member €30, Juvenile Member €40 and Family Membership €130 (2 Parents and 2 + Children).  All Club Barrs Members are full members of the Club for the Year 2019 and will receive a discount off family membership if they chose this option for their family. 

 

Hard luck to Louth Ladies and to Leanne Sharkey and Deirbhile Osborne who were part of the Louth Ladies panel who lost to Limerick in Lidl NFL Div 4 Round 1 on Sunday 1-9(12) to 0-11(11).
