Geraldines club notes

January 08, 2019

Happy New Year to all and the Geraldines GFC machine has certainly kicked back into gear with lots happening.

Firstly our congratulations to Dan Corcoran, James Craven and Jim McEneaney who have all been part of the recent Louth Senior squad that has competed in the O’Byrne Cup. Indeed, it is some 60 years since the club has had 3 players on the starting team (v Wicklow). Well done and the club is immensely proud.

With the kind support of Frank Lynch & Company, https://twitter.com/FrankLynchCo , our Schools Development Programme commences this Friday in both St. Francis and St. Fursey’s.

Our Juvenile Winter Development Programme also starts up again on Saturday @ DkIT Sports for all children in U8 and above. The time slots are later than previous so please do check with your coach.

Dust off those walking shoes and get active this January. The club in conjunction with Operation Transformation has signed up for the Ireland Lights Up initiative. Every Thursday from the 17th January – 21st February 2019 our club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7pm to 8pm. This is a community event and we want everyone to come and join for Ireland Lights Up 2019!

As a warm up, we will be walking 5km this Saturday from 11 am, starting and finishing at the clubhouse. Tea and coffee will be available afterwards. Again all are welcome so let’s together, get active and get walking!

A great start to the New Year for Neil McIntyre who was the lucky recipient of the Gers Lotto jackpot of €11,400.
