Louth County Council has come under fire from a local GAA club preparing to play in a Leinster final next weekend.

Dundalk Young Irelands have accused the local authority of ‘removing and breaking’ good luck posters they had erected in their catchment area ahead of next Saturday’s Leinster club JFC final against St Brigid’s of Offaly.

Founded in 1884, Young Irelands is one of the oldest GAA clubs in the country and played in the first-ever All-Ireland final. Since defeated Glyde Rangers in the Louth JFC final on October 7, they have blazed a path to the provincial final with victories over Kilbeggan Shamrocks (Westmeath), Annanough (Laois) and Tullogher-Rosbercon (Kilkenny).
