Ballycran (Down), Slaughtneill (Derry), Knockbridge (Louth) and Wolfe Tones (Longford) are celebrating county hurling success this evening.

Ballycran staged a late smash and grab raid to win the Down SHC final at Ballygalget.

Conor Woods his 1-1 in stoppage time to help his team pip Portaferry on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-14.

Despite Cormac McAllister's 13th minute goal, the winners trailed by 1-2 to 1-9 at the interval after Ronan Blair had responded with a green flag for Portaferry.

Portaferry looked to have one hand on the silverware when leading by two points entering stoppage time but Woods’ late scoring burst left them empty-handed.

Ballycran will face Derry champions Slaughtneil in the Ulster Club SHC semi-final on Sunday, October 28.

Slaughtneil continued their winning ways with a 2-12 to 0-10 success over Banagher in Owenbeg.

The holders led by 1-6 to 0-5 at the change of ends and half-time substitute Brian Cassidy bagged their second goal in the 50th minute to send them on the road to an eight-point victory.

Meanwhile, in Louth, Knockbridge scored an emphatic 4-12 to 1-9 final victory over St Fechins.

They trailed by 2-3 to 1-7 at the halfway stage but second-half goals from Gerry McKeown and Ronan Mulholland swung the contest in their favour.

Gary Hall and Shane Fennell found the back of the St Fechins net in the first-half while David Stephenson goaled for the losing side.

Wolfe Tones got the better of Clonguish Gaels by 1-11 to 0-10 at Glennon Bros Pearse Park.

The six-in-a-row winners overturned a 0-5 to 0-6 half-time deficit to take the spoils with Martin Coyle netting a crucial goal for the Mostrim men.
