Senior Men's Division 2 Match Result:

O'Raghallaighs 2-20, Kilkerley Emmets 1-15

 

The O'Raghallaighs were crowned Division 2 winners on Sunday, after a hard fought victory against Kilkerley Emmets.

 

The game's first half proved to be a tense affair. Both teams made good use of any scoring opportunities that came their way, and the scoreline reflected that going into half time, O'Raghallaighs with a narrow lead of 0-12 to 0-09.

 

The second half got off to a dramatic start, with goals from Ben Rogan and Daniel Morgan putting the Raghs comfortably ahead. Kilkerley were reduced to 14 men through a red card, but scored a goal of their own shortly afterwards. O'Raghallaighs were soon down to 14 men as well, with Robert Mulroy picking up a red card. Despite this, Kilkerley were unable to close the points gap, with the game ending 2-20 to 1-15 in favour of the O'Raghallaighs.

U16 Match Result:

O'Raghallaighs 6-19, St Brides 1-05

 

Fresh from victory in the Bryan Cullen invitational tournament on Saturday, the northroaders got back to business with this U16 A championship second round game on Wednesday night.

 

The O'Raghallaighs controlled the tempo and game from start to finish. The midfield partnership of Ben Smyth and Ciaran Kinsella were excellent on the night and both contributed to the scoresheet. They lost Fiachra Lambe to injury early on, with his replacement Adam McGrane performing excellently, always remaining available and chipped in with a few scores. Also excellent on the night were Daire O'Rourke and Tim Curran, while all 20 players put in very good performances.

 

Next up is the group decider away to St Josephs on Wednesday night. Throw in at 7.30pm. All support welcome.

U7 Blitz Report:

There was a great turnout at the U7's blitz on Sunday morning, hosted by Glen Emmets. Eleven of our youngest talent turned out to play in the green and white, which included games against Sean McDermotts, Naomh Mairtin and our hosts Glen Emmets. All three games were very competitive and included fine individual performances along with great teamwork.

 

It was great to see a couple of new faces joining our U7's today and playing competitive football for the first time, well done.

 

Many thanks to our hosts Glen Emmets and to our opponents for three great games of football and thanks as ever to all our young players and families for their continued support.

 

The U7's team would also like to congratulate the O'Raghallaighs mens seniors on winning the Division 2 League title today - an inspiration to all of our clubs young players.

 

Fixtures

Our Junior 2 team face off against Annaghminnon Rovers this Tuesday away from home. Throw in is at 7.30pm. All support welcome.

 

On Friday, our U15 team face off against Clan na Gael away from home. Throw in is at 7.00pm.

 

Our U16 team play St Mochtas / St Josephs this Wednesday away from home. Throw in is at 7.30pm.

 

This Sunday, our U14 team face Wolfe Tones at home. Throw in is at 11.00am.

 

This Monday our U13 team will play St Finbarrs at home in their first game of the Division 2 league. Throw in is at 7.00pm.

 

Juvenile Training

Training for our juvenile academy continues every Saturday morning at 11.00am. All new players welcome. Training for all other age groups continues as normal also.

 

Fleadh Cheoil

With the Fleadh Cheoil coming up this week, our clubhouse bar will be full of music and entertainment during the festival.

 

Our doors will be open to all musicians, singers and dancers throughout the week, welcoming the Fleadh spirit into the club.

 

On Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th, our main hall will be the venue for Feis of the Fleadh, which is sure to be great entertainment for all who attend.

 

Also, on Sunday 19th, make sure to come along in your county colours to watch the All Ireland Hurling Final, surrounded by fellow GAA fans. Then, later on, enjoy some live music from the fantastic Rapscallion.

 

Last but not least, we'll also have Mullens Event Catering in the club grounds from Friday 17th until Sunday 19th, to provide some much needed grub for everyone enjoying the festivities.

 

It's sure to a fantastic week and is definitely not to be missed.
