O Raghallaighs suffered their first defeat of the season when they went down by 2-10 to 1-11 against St Mochtas in Drogheda on Friday night.

The home side could have clinched the league title had results gone their way but despite losing out the O Raghallaighs remain on pole position to finish top of the table.

Jamie Farrell and Andy English grabbed the goals for the Mochtas which proved decisive despite Barry Flanagan hitting the net for the O Raghallaighs.

Kilkerely Emmets took full advantage of that slip-up to close the gap to just two points at the top thanks to their 2-12 to 0-13 win over Roche Emmets.

Shane Lennon was the star of the show as he scored 1-12 of his side's total including 1-5 in the first half that saw his side lead by 1-5 to 0-4.

Barry O'Hare, who finished with ten points, led the Roche revival in the second half but a goal from Ciaran McGlynn along with further points from Lennon, settled the issue in favour of Kilkerley.

O'Connells moved into third place in the Division 2 table after recording their fourth win in a row at home to a Hunterstown Rovers side who failed to score in the second half as they came out on top by 2-16 to 0-7.

Robert Quigley, Dean Stanfield and Stuart Osborne were among the points for the Bellingham side as they led by 0-11 to 0-7 at half time, with Alan Landy, Robert McNiece and David Finn on target for Rovers.

Hunterstown failed to add to their tally in the second half as the O'Connells eased to victory with goals from Sean Connolly and Jackie Agnew.

Nh Fionnbarra produced a super come back from five points down at half time to share the spoils with the Plunketts in Ballygassan on Thursday evening on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-13.

The Plunketts had the better of the first half and a goal from Kevin Keogh helped them lead by 1-10 to 2-2 at half time.

Robbie Brady added three points to their tally early in the second half but they failed to add to their score for the remainder of the contest and the Finbarrs hit back to secure a draw. Jack Butterly (2) and Bernard Osborne scored the goals for the home side.

Meanwhile, St Josephs continued their battle against relegation with a critical 3-13 to 0-14 home win against Glen Emmets.

The Joes raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead inside ten minutes and they tightened their grip with goals from Peter Brennan and Daire Smyth. Points from James Butler, Keelan O'Neill and Jamie Gilkes helped the Emmets cut the gap to 2-9 to 0-8 at the break.

The Emmets battled to stay in touch in the second half but a goal from Jack Mulligan on 46 minutes put the result beyond doubt and the Joes ran out comfortable winners.
