Jordan Morrissey will make his championship debut for Carlow against Louth in Portlaoise this afternoon.

The talented Eire Og teenager Jordan Morrissey has been handed the number five jersey by manager Turlough O'Brien for the Leinster SFC opening round clash.

There are two changes in personnel from the Division 4 final defeat to Laois as Conor Lawlor and Danny Moran return to the starting 15 in place of Mark Rennick and Brendan Murphy, who has since departed the squad.

Ciaran Moran switches from wing-back to midfield to cover for the loss of the US-bound Murphy, meanwhile, the Barrowsiders' attack remains unchanged with captain John Murphy named at top of the left.

Carlow (Leinster SFC v Louth): Robbie Molloy; Chris Crowley, Shane Redmond, Conor Lawlor; Jordan Morrissey, Daniel St Ledger, Danny Moran; Sean Murphy, Ciaran Moran; Sean Gannon, Darragh Foley, Eoghan Ruth; Paul Broderick, Darragh O'Brien, John Murphy.
