The Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies also picked up their first league point with a 4-8(20) to 4-8(20) draw game v St. Patrick's Ladies in Lordship, well done girls.  A misty damp spin to Lordship was on the cards for the Barrs Ladies this morning. With the Barrs on the hunt for win number one of the season and St. Pats looking for two wins from two, both teams were out to prove a point. The game started with the St. Pats on the front foot with a very early point by Kate Flood but it didn't take the Barrs too long to find their feet. Leanne Sharkey came close but took the post with her shot however rebound fell to Hullen and to the back of the net the ball went. Pats came close shortly after with a mix up between stand in keeper Devlin and Katie McArdle, however the girls cleared the ball and prevented a score. Good play between Hullen and Leanne Sharkey which lead to a point for the Barrs with a goal by the Laura Sharkey on her first game of the season. Points continued for the Togher girls with Hullen and Leanne scoring again. Laura Sharkey was through for another goal attempt however this time a block prevent her from making it two goals for herself. The forward trio of Hullen and the two Sharkeys again bagged another point each for themselves with St. Pats coming back with a point and a saved goal attempt. Denise Moynagh and Jenny Devlin also got themselves on the score sheet before half time with a point a piece with St Pats coming back with a goal. Strong midfield work between Rosin Osborne and Amy Grant lead to a pass to Moynagh who again got herself on the score sheet this time with a goal. Half Time Score Finbarrs 3-8 St. Pats 1-4.

The second half was going to be a challenge for the Barrs, having had the wind with them in the first half, St Pats had the advantage now. The weather worsened with rain and made it a slippy second half for all. St Pats used all to their advantage and kick started the half by scoring 2-1 inside the first few minutes. The Barrs were unlucky shortly after with returning player Amy Grant took a shot on goals but it saved and rebound fell to Laura Sharkey who scored but was disallowed due to a square ball. Hullen had another chance on goal but the ball flew past the keeper but unfortunately went the wrong side of the post. Pats responded with another goal with Amy Grant again unlucky when a fist pass attempt on goal was plucked out of the corner of the goal by the keeper. With both teams battling the game became scrappy and a number of tackles lead to some players being lucky they were still on the pitch. The Barrs bench was getting edgy and Pats quietened them with a point. Barrs now sat 3 points down with minutes left. Aoife Holmes replaced Niamh Devlin in goals, she moved to the forwards with Laura Sharkey left to give way. With a few attempts on goal being cleared from the square it looked like a second loss for the Barrs but Amy Grant got herself a shot on goal buried the ball and made it a draw game. Full Time Score 4-08 a-piece.
