Dromard club notes

November 06, 2017

Sympathy: Dromard GAA offers its sympathy to the Hagan family on the death of Michael Hagan, Cornakelly and London, whose funeral took place in Legga on Sunday last. The Club sends its condolences also to the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Murtagh, formerly of Enaghan, Co. Longford and NewYork, who passed away recently. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-ainmneacha.

Dromard GAA receives official Healthy Club Recognition: Saturday last was a very proud day for our club. At an event in Croke Park, Dromard GAA became one of the first clubs in the association to receive official Healthy Club recognition (2018-2020) following its successful participation in the GAA Healthy Club Project. This award gives due recognition to the club's efforts over the last few years to be a club for the whole community by making its facilities available for everyone, introducing many new healthy initiatives and hosting various talks and seminars on health and wellness. There to accept the award on behalf of the club were Mary Murphy and Brid Mimnagh, both members of the hardworking Healthy Club Committee whose time and efforts have been justly rewarded. Well done to the whole community of Dromard for playing their part by willingly engaging with the club on this project.

Dromard GAA Special Members Draw: Dromard GAA have re-launched the very successful "Special Members Draw" for the year ahead. Over and above the day- to-day running costs of our Club, the funds raised from the draw help us to maintain the facilities at Páirc na nGael which are used by the whole community. We had 48 winners in the last 12 months and gave away €9,600 in cash prizes. Thanks to everyone who registered for this draw for the 2016/2017 season and we really hope that you will renew your subscription for the year ahead. We also hope that anyone who missed out last year will consider signing up this year. Club representatives are currently calling door-to-door to ask for your support. There are several ways to sign up and purchase a subscription. (1). You can register and pay online by visiting www.iregister.ie/DromardGAA (2) Set up a standing order of €100 annually or €25 per quarter through online banking or in branch using a Standing order form. (3). Upfront Payment of €100 Cash or Cheque (made payable to Dromard GAA). Please note: Payment must be made in advance of first Draw taking place on November 19th 2017. Thank you to all who have signed up to date.
