Emmet Og club notes

July 10, 2017

We had a very successful weekend on the playing fields. On Saturday evening our junior reserve team finally captured the league title after years of trying with a fine win over Abbeylara.  Goals win games and we managed two from our impressive forward line of Enda Hughes and Cormac O Reilly in the first half to see us lead throughout. After a strong team performance we ran out winners on a score of 2-7 to 1-5. A delighted captain Gerry Carberry accepted the cup following the game from County Vice Chair Brid McGoldrick. Well done to team and management.

On Sunday our seniors were at home to Clonguish in the league. After a very entertaining game we ran out winner by two points, 3-15 to 4-12. Well done to all involved.

This Coming Friday evening we are at home to Clonguish in the senior B championship semi final. Good luck to all involved.

Congratulations to our club sponsor Paul Rowley who was instrumental in the redevelopment of his adopted club Rockland County, New York who opened their spectacular new facilities last weekend. Judging by the impressive footage on social media it certainly was a fantastic weekend in New York.

Finally our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in Begleys bar for a jackpot of €8,200. The numbers drawn were 8, 30, 32 and 34. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Fr.
