Soccer commitments may hamper Stradbally

October 26, 2016

Gary Comerford in action for Cobh Ramblers against Shamrock Rovers.

Stradbally's Leinster club SFC campaign begins this weekend, but they may have to plan without one of their key players.

Centre forward Gary Comerford who scored his side's opening goal in the county final win over Portlaoise and set up the match winning second, plays soccer with Cobh Ramblers.

The Cork outfit are in the middle of an Airtricity League Division 1 play-off against Drogheda United where they are losing 2-0 after the first leg.

The second leg is due to be played this Friday night and if Cobh manage to turn around the two-goal deficit they will play again on Monday night.

This means that Comerford who is such an influential player for Stradbally will miss out on the Leinster club SFC clash against Longford side Mullinalaghta at Pearse Park.
