Dromard club notes

Division 1 League: Dromard 1-07 Mullinalaghta St Columbas 2-17: Our senior team was defeated by Mullinalaghta on Saturday evening in Round 2 of the league. In a game played in continuous heavy rain, Mullinalaghta were more clinical in converting their chances and ran out deserving winners. Dromard trailed by 1-10 to 1-4 at half time. Ronan Bleakley scored the Dromard goal with an excellent finish to the net. The Dromard points in the first half were scored by Joseph Hagan, Ross McNerney (0-2) and Diarmuid Masterson. Dromard added three points to their tally in the second half from John Sheridan, Diarmuid Masterson and Francis McGee. Division 4: Our second team lost out to a strong Mullinalaghta side on Sunday. Dromard battled hard throughout and put together some good attacking moves. Peter Mimnagh scored an excellent goal in the second half to narrow the margin but Mullinalaghta finished strongly and extended their advantage towards the finish. A special mention for John Donohoe who made a welcome return to action for Dromard after a nine-year absence and played very solidly at corner back. Senior Football Championship: Best of luck to our senior football panel and management team in the first round of the Championship against St Mary’s Granard. The game takes place on Saturday (8 August) at 7pm in Oliver Lynch Park Abbeylara.

 

Pairc na nGael: On Sunday evening (9 August) Pairc na nGael will host the senior championship clash of Colmcille and Mullinalaghta St Columbas. Throw in is at 6.30pm. 

New walking track under construction: Construction work on our new walking track is well underway and we are excited about opening it to the public in the coming months. In the meantime, the track and our grounds are a construction site. For your safety and the safety of others, please do not enter our grounds to use the walking track until the construction works are completed. Thank you. 

Masses in Legga and Moyne Churches: Masses are continuing in Legga and Moyne churches with restricted capacity in line with the with the current health guidelines. All those attending Mass are asked to cooperate with the ushers in both churches to ensure the safety of those attending. Masses from both Legga and Moyne churches can now be viewed live via the new webcams that have been installed.
