Killoe Emmet Og will be led on to the field by their captain Sean McCormack in Sunday’s Longford SFC final and the county star admits he is honoured to lead the side.
Longford Slashers provide the opposition on Sunday and McCormack will be one of the key players on duty.
He revealed to the Longford Leader that the current Killoe team has many leaders in their ranks.
“It’s a while ago since I last captained Killoe,” said McCormack. “It’s always a great honour. When you have been playing for so long and have been around for so long, you look at it in a different light.
“You have so many leaders there now. A lot of lads are stepping up.”
This year saw McCormack hang up his inter-county boots and now his focus is lifting the county title with his club.
