Bertie Allen Cup Final: Dromard 1-14 Longford Slashers 0-11. Congratulations to our senior football panel and management on winning the Bertie Allen Cup Final with a good victory over Longford Slashers at Emmet Park, Killoe, on Saturday evening. Dromard started brightly and opened the scoring with an excellent Francis McGee point from play. Two James Martin points (from play and a free) along with further scores from Cian Mimnagh and three from Francis McGee saw Dromard lead at half time by 7 points to 4. A Cian Mimnagh point extended Dromard’s lead after half time but Longford Slashers responded to cut the gap to two points, 8 points to 6 with 10 minutes played. Led by Pauric Martin in the half-back line, Dromard were winning lots of possession and a good move down the middle of the field created a goal-scoring opportunity which Conor McGahern finished brilliantly to the net. Dromard added further points from Diarmuid Masterson (2), Dylan McCormack, Cian Mimnagh and Peter Reynolds to run out winners. Well done to the panel of players who have worked hard all year and to the Dromard management team of Niall Sheridan, Stephen Reilly and Cathal Twaddle. After the match, Dromard captain Cian Mimnagh was presented with the Bertie Allen cup by County Board Chairman Eamon Reilly. Team: Gavin McNerney; Peadar  Kiernan, James Mimnagh,  Paul McGee; Pauric Martin, Peter Reynolds, Dylan McCormack; Diarmuid Masterson, Bernard Sheirdan; Conor McGahern, Francis McGee, David Pettit; James Martin, Cian Mimnagh, Kevin Kane.  Subs used: John Sheridan.
