Longford manager Padraic Davis believes that there are many positives to take from their league campaign.

Despite missing a host of players at different stages of the campaign, Longford managed to retain their FL3 status rather comfortably.

On reflection, Davis feels that there were a good few pluses to take from the campaign, while adding that there is still plenty to work on ahead of the Leinster SFC.

“All in all, it has been nothing more than a satisfactory National league for us. Consolidation in Division 3 was always step one. Step two was promotion and step three is coming down the tracks in the championship. We’ll take it,” said Davis.

The Longford manager now sees his players return to their clubs and he admitted that it will be a nervy few weeks for him hoping they all return injury free.

“Hopefully the break with the clubs is kind to us. It’s hugely demanding for the players. It’s the way the thing is gone with club and county. It’s all about playing football. It is demanding on the body.”
