Dromard Ladies Club Notes

County Matters: Well done to our County Seniors who after last weeks heartbreaking defeat in added time made no mistake in beating Sligo on a scoreline of 4-14 to 4-8 in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday. This win puts them 3rd in the division, and they now have a week off before travelling to Offaly the following weekend. In the meantime it's the turn of our County Minors and our very own Karen McLoughlin and Shauna Hagan to take centre stage as they travel to play Laois this weekend. Good Luck ladies, and lets hope for a winning start.

Gold Cup: This Senior competition starts in 10 days time and the Senior Ladies, ably supplemented by our Minor and U16s have been training hard under David, Sean and Paul's watchful eyes for the last few weeks and can't wait to get playing.

Congratulations: To our very own Ellen Murphy who came on from the bench again in Glasgow, to record a good victory over Scotland in the Women's Six Nations Rugby. A sweet taste after the previous week's harrowing defeat to England. We follow her career closely in Dromard, and what is Dromard Ladies GAA loss is certainly Ireland's gain. Well done Ellen.

Birthdays: Happy Birthday to Minor/Senior player Karen McLoughlin who will be 17 on Valentines Day! Enjoy your day Karen, and best of luck down in Laois at the weekend.
