Dromard club notes

October 15, 2018

Monthly Draw: The Dromard GAA Monthly Members Draw for October will take place in the Clubhouse on Sunday next (21 October) after 11.45am Mass. This is the 12th and last Draw of the year. We would like to invite everyone to come along to the launch of the next 12 monthly draws for the 2018/19 year. As well as contributing to meeting the day-to-day running costs of our Club, the funds raised from the draw help us to maintain the facilities at the Clubhouse and around Páirc na nGael which are used by the whole community. One year’s membership costs €100. We had 60 winners in the last 12 months and gave away over €10,000 in cash prizes. Thank you to all our supporters and members who registered for the draw for the 2017/2018 season and we really hope that you will renew your subscription for the year ahead. If you would like to renew your membership or to sign up for the first time, you can do so online. Further information will be available in the coming weeks. Alternatively please join us this Sunday in the clubhouse and you can sign up on the day.

County Champions: Congratulations to St Columbas Mullinalaghta on the magnificent achievement of winning their third county final in a row. Commiserations to Abbeylara. Well done to Rathcline on winning the intermediate final after three great battles with Ardagh/Moydow. Congratulations to Tommy and Joe McCormack, Killoe, on managing Aughawillan to another Leitrim county final victory on Sunday. Hard luck to their opponents Mohill.

New Volunteers: Dromard Athletics would like to thank all the new volunteers who have come forward to help out. If anyone else is interested, please let us know.  We won't be taking any late registration this year.  We will be open again for new members in January.  Please remember all children under 9 require an adult or guardian to stay within the grounds of the Astro turf.  Athletics continues every Monday from 6.00 to 6.45pm.

Sunday Morning Walks: Our regular Sunday morning walks have resumed. The walk starts at 9am at the clubhouse. New walkers always welcome.

Dromard Ladies Club Notes

Minors: Unfortunately the minor girls did not have a game Sunday last as Mullinalaghta were unable to field a team. Instead we had a well attended training session that the girls put a lot of energy into. We now await to find out who our quarter final opponents will be. The quarter final is scheduled for this coming Sunday. However, there is a possibility that this match could be put back as group 1 still have outstanding fixtures. As always we are very grateful for everyone’s continued support and we hope to have supporters out for the up and coming game.

Birthdays: We would like to send birthday wishes to three of our underage girls starting with Caoimhe Shannon who will turn 9 on Saturday, Kara Duffy who will turn 8 on Monday and last but not least Meabh Reynolds who will turn 11 next Wednesday. We hope you all have a great day!

Sponsors: We would like to say a huge thank you to Emma Kiernan of Perfections Hair Studio and Colette Conefrey of Source Air Conditioning and Electrical Services Ltd. who sponsored warm up tops for our senior ladies panel. We really appreciate the sponsorship and support we have received to date. Members of the Dromard Ladies senior and underage panels are pictured below receiving their new tops from Emma and Colette.
