New Cavan manager Mickey Graham won’t be giving his full attention to his native county for another couple of weeks as he prepares Longford side Mullinalaghta for yet another county SFC final.

The defending champions face neighbours Abbeylara for the third consecutive year and they are seeking to win a coveted three-in-a-row.

Graham was installed as the new Cavan manager a few weeks back, but his focus will be on the county final and bowing out on a high.

And he told the Longford Leader about how proud of the players he was after they dug deep to defeat Clonguish in the semi-final.

He said: “These boys have been through the mill a lot now in the last three years; we have found ourselves in a lot of sticky situations as we moved forward,” said Graham.

“The lads knew what to expect as Clonguish were never going to give up with lots of quality on their team.”
