Experienced Longford duo Brian Kavanagh and Diarmuid Masterson have followed Dermot Brady into intercounty retirement.
The stalwarts both made their debuts for the midlanders under Luke Dempsey in 2006 and have been to the fore for the past decade as Longford forged a reputation as Qualifier specialists.
The versatile Masterson remained central to the team's exploits last summer, while former Kilmacud Crokes ace Kavanagh's 2017 season was disrupted by injury.
Longford are nevertheless through to the semi-final stage of the O'Byrne Cup this weekend and will travel to Navan to face Meath following excellent victories over Louth and Kildare.
