The hurlers of London have had to rely on the generosity of Meath as their hurlers were misplaced on the way over and they are using borrowed sticks.

So there it is ladies and gentlemen, the championship are certainly up and running now as we look forward to a great day’s action, be back soon with some team news.

In Pairc Tailteann, Meath will be confident of seeing off the challenge of Offaly as they look to book a place in the provincial semi-final.

There are two games in the Leinster SFC as Louth travel to the sunny south east to take on a Wexford side that haven’t had the best of preparations for this game.

Tyrone will be hotly fancied to see off the challenge of Derry in the Ulster SFC at Healy Park in this local derby.

In football, Connacht sees Roscommon go head to head with Leitrim at Dr Hyde Park. The Rossies will not take a confident Leitrim side for granted, but they still should prevail in this one.

There is also action in the Christy Ring and Nicky Rackard Cups to complete a hectic afternoon of hurling.

In the Leinster SHC, Galway should have enough firepower even without Joe Canning to see off the challenge of Carlow at Pearse Stadium.

Two games that are hard to call, but home advantage could have a major say on the outcome of these two.
