Kerry won the last four All-Ireland minor titles. The grade has changed from U18 to U17 this year but the Kingdom have continued where they left off and look set for yet another All-Ireland final appearance. Monaghan have regrouped brilliantly since losing their Ulster opener to Derry.

The Kingdom are managed by Peter Keane and have been unbeaten at minor level since 2013 - a truly remarkable record!

I see Seamus McEnaney has one of his old trusty lieutenants Damien Freeman as a selector with the Monaghan minor team.

The minor game starts in less than 15 minutes. The general consensus among the experts seems to be that Tyrone are certs to win the senior match, so maybe the Farney boys can prevail in the curtain-raiser...
