The late Patrick Burke The death occurred of Patrick (Pat) Burke, Ardnamoher, Galbally, County Limerick. Pat was a highly respects and popular member of the community and his death is deeply regretted. He was educated at Lisvernane National School, Glen of Aherlow and at the Intermediate School, Galbally. He was son of Richard (Dick) Burke and the late Dick worked for the Post Office company and delivered the mails to many families along the Galtee Mountains foothills. Pat in his social life was a top class Gaelic footballer who won many trophies with the Galbally GAA club. When he decided to seek employment he went to England where he gave more of his working where he gained the confidence of his employers and his fellow workmates, he was noted for ability on the playing field where he developed friendship, not only with his playing mates but also to much more for the community at large at home and overseas. When Pat retired from his working life he returned to his native birthplace at Ardnamoher up to to the time of his death. His remains were removed from Fraser's Funeral Home where the prayers were recited by Reverend Father Derry Quirke CC Galbally/Aherlow where they were received by Father Quirke and following concelebrated requiem mass the chief celebrant of which was Father Quirke assisted by Very Reverend Denis Canon Talbot PP, Galbally/Aherlow and Very Reverend Father Frank Gallagher PP Ballinahinch, County Tipperary, the internment took place in Ballinacourty cemetery Glen of Aherlow. The attendance at both the removal of the remains, reception at the church and burial at the cemetery which proved the popularity of the deceased and his family. He is deeply regretted by his son Paul, partner Elsie and sisters Mary, Bridie and Esther, daughter in law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
