March 18, 2006
The late Nora Roche The death occurred at the Lir Rest Home, Tournafulla, March 9, 2006, of Nora Roche of Kilscannell, Ardagh and formerly of Meenoline, Templeglantine. Nora, who celebrated her 90th birthday last August was daughter of the late Michael Mulcahy and Nora (nee Scanlon) of Meenoline. She had a great love of her native parish and was a regular supporter of parish events back over the years. She scarcely ever missed the annual sale of work at Halla Inse Ban. In her younger days she played camogie for Glantine and was one of the few surviving members of the 1930's team. She took great pleasure in hearing of the revival of camogie in the parish again in the past year and she had a great interest in Gaelic Games, especially hurling and had many songs and verses concerning matches and other local events. She was a very kind-hearted caring person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her remains were brought from Reidy's Funeral Home, Newcastle West to Ardagh Church and after requiem mass the funeral tool place to Reilig na Trionoide, Templeglantine. She is survived by her sister, Sr. Michael, Convent of Mercy, Oldham; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam. Courtesy of Limerick Leader 18 March 2006
