Keogh, Seamus

August 30, 2003
The late Seamus Keogh Seamus Keogh was a team player who was respected by his colleagues both on the sports field and in work writes Colm Ward. An apprentice electrician, he worked with his father Pat. Seamus was well-known for his work around the local community. During his funeral, Fr Michael Kennedy remembered the good he had done with his father in the dressing room in the sportsfield in Herbertstown. "He was a hard worker and a talented young man," said Mr Ryan. "The family and himself have a lot of friends in the area." Seamus also had a great love of sport. He played soccer, hurling and football and was a popular member of the local GAA club. He was also a dedicated Arsenal fan. Seamus had attended Herbertstown National School before going on to St John the Baptist in Hospital. He finished his studies last year and went on to take up his apprenticeship. This is the second tragic accident to befall the Keogh family. Six years ago, Seamus lost his brother Patrick, who was killed in a tragic fall from a balcony in Spain. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Mary; his three brothers, Leo, Keith and Shane; and his two sisters, Susan and Leonie. Courtesy of the Limerick Leader August 2003
