Ryan, Sean

August 31, 2002
The Late Sean Ryan August 2002 saw the passing of Sean Ryan (Maher) Farnana, Cappamore, whose death occurred at his residence. He was well known in GAA circles, especially in his native Cappamore with whom he won a junior hurling county title in 1952, followed by senior titles in 1954, 1956, 1959 and 1964. In later years he served as senior hurling selector, vice-chairman and for the past four years joint President of the club. He was also a member of Cappamore Show Committee. Sean is survived by his wife Freda, sons P.J., John, Liam and Thomas, daughters Catriona and Marie, sons-in-law, James and Barry, grandschildren, mother Kathleen, brother, sisters, relatives and friends. There was a very big and represented attendance at both the removal of his remains from Meehan's funeral home, Newport to St. Michael's Church, Cappamore and at his burial in Doon cemetery following Requiem Mass. A guard of honour was formed by members of Cappamore GAA and Show. Courtesy of the Limerick Leader August 2002
