The Late Matt O'Connor Matt O'Connor, Rutagh Herbertstown was laid to rest in Hospital cemetery. From the parish of Boher, he lived in Herbertstown since getting married and his wife Chrissie, he had four daughters, Marsella, Noreen, Deirdre, Marie and a son John. He was a loving father and husband as well as being a respected member of the community in Herbertstown. He wore the hurling colours of Murroe with his brothers, Mick, Paddy, Martin and Johnny and his sisters, Maggie, Mary, Norrie and Bridie, are still alive to tell the tales of those great games in Murroe and Caherconlish. He married Chrissie O'Gorman, a lady with West Clare connections in 1971 and made Herbertstown his home in 1975. He worked at Roches Stores and at the time of his death was aged 77.
