The Late Mikie Hogan
Sad to hear that my good friend Mikie Hogan has passed away in England.
Mikie, formerly of Fatima Place, Kilkenny spent his later life in England, in Luton in particular.
As youngsters growing up in Fatima we had a lot to thank Mikie for.
He gave unselfishly of himself to us, organising hurling matches and trips to the cinema.
His sons Tommy and Seánie were our mates but their dad was the real hero - an unpaid community worker who kept out young years active.
He was a regular visitor to a city he loved and in fact had just returned to England after a short break here.
Mikie had not enjoyed good health in recent years.
May he rest in peace.
