Rathkeale Senior Footballers Lose Out to Monaleen

Our Senior Footballers opened their Championship season when paired against Monaleen, reigning County Champions, last Saturday evening in Clarina. After 20 minutes there was nothing to separate the sides with both sides level on 3 points apiece. Then came Monaleen's purple patch when they outscored Rathkeale by 2-04 to a solitary point in the remaining 10 minutes of the first half. Half time score, Monaleen 2-07, Rathkeale 0-4. Rathkeale came out a different team in the second period and slowly but surely chipped away at Monaleen's lead however they ran out of time with the final score reading Monaleen 3-12, Rathkeale 1-12. Rathkeale will be disappointed with the 10 minute collapse in the opening half however there are positives to be taken from the 2nd half display. Rathkeale now need to re-group quickly and focus on their encounter which is another difficult task to Drom\Broadford. Newcastlewest will host the contest on Saturday April 29th at 7.00pm. Junior B Footballers - Open Championship Campaign

Our Junior B Footballers open their Championship campaign with a difficult encounter to Knockaderry. The contest will be played this Thursday evening, April 27th at 7.00pm in Feenagh. Best of luck to all involved.
