John Brudair has quit as Limerick football manager after three years in the role.

Brudair took over from Maurice Horan at the end of the 2013 season. The Treaty lost to Clare in the Munster SFC this summer, then saw off Antrim in the qualifiers before Cork defeated them in the round 2B in July.

In a statment this afternoon, Limerick GAA announced the news: "John Brudair has informed CLG Coiste Contae Luimní today that he will not be going forward for another term as Limerick Senior Football Manager.

"John has given sterling service to Limerick Football over the past three seasons. CLG Coiste Contae Lumní and Coiste Peil Lumní would like to thank John and his Management team for their dedication to Limerick Football.

"We would like to wish John, his Management team and their families to very best in the future."
