An eligibility controversy has ruled Limerick midfielder Tom Lee out of this Sunday's Munster SFC quarter final clash with Clare while captain Iain Corbett is sidelined with a leg injury.

The Limerick Leader reports that Lee transferred from Limerick club Ballylanders back to his native Headford in Galway on April 30 and two weeks ago he played in the Galway IFC.

Treaty County manager John Brudair was hoping to exploit a loop hole in the rule book and transfer Lee back to Ballylanders in time to line out in the Munster SFC but The Limerick Leader understands that the transfer has not been sanctioned by Limerick GAA officials as concerns exist about where he resides.

A secondary school teacher in Nenagh CBS, Lee transferred to Ballylanders from Headford in 2011 and accepted an invitation from Maurice Horan to line out for the Treaty County.

He has been a regular for the past six years and trained with Brudair's squad over the weekend before receiving confirmation that he was ruled out of the Gaelic Grounds encounter.

Manager Brudair has confirmed his captain Corbett will play no part against the Banner County after sustaining a leg injury on club duty with Newcastle West last month.
