Cruciate blow for Limerick hurler Finn

Limerick corner back Sean Finn has been ruled out for the entire 2016 season with a cruciate ligament tear.

The Bruff clubman sustained the injury in the first half of UL's Fitzgibbon Cup victory over Mary Immaculate College last Tuesday. UL are facing NUIG in the same competition this afternoon.

The injury also rules Finn out Limerick's defence of the All-Ireland U21 HC.

After his stand-out performances with the U21s last year, he was called into the senior panel over the winter and played three of the Treaty County's four Munster senior hurling league games in January.

He was on course to make his league debut against Wexford in the first round of the national hurling league this weekend.
