Denis O'Neill
Popular Kilteely man who was a keen farmer and had a great interest in GAA
The late Denis O'Neill lived a long and fulfilled life in the community of Kilteely/Dromkeen. Born to his parents John and Johanna O'Neill in Ballyvouden, Kilteely, he moved to his uncle at Ballingranna, Kilteely, over 40 years ago.
Denis was a keen farmer and on many an occasion you would see him in Kilmallock or Tipperary mart with his two brothers and later on with his nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brother John who he was very united to.
A keen GAA man who never missed a match on Sunday sport, he would have been proud of Limerick to win the Munster final after 17 years.
He lived with his sister Eileen (Eilly) who cared for him, especially when his health declined over the last couple of years. Large crowds attended his funeral both at the funeral home and the church at Ballingrana on the night of his wake. Many people commented to us that they would miss him walking on the road with his dog (Killy). A couple of days before he died he went out to see his niece Helen and his nephew Denis baling - and he counted his bales.
The Lord has rejoined the two farming brothers from the community of Kilteely/Dromkeen and he now has two exceptional farmers to look after the wide expanse of paradise. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Eileen (Eilly) and Bridget (Bride May), brother Stephen (Stevie), brother in law Donal (Donnie), nephews John Stephen (Steve), Michael (Mike), Denis (Denny), John Gallagher; nieces Catherine (Cathy) Helen, Johanna, Noelle, Mairead and Siobhain relatives and friends.
May he rest in peace and unity with his parents John and Johanna, brother John and sister in law Anne and his many friends who have predeceased him.
Denis O'Neill; born February 8 1933, died July 13 July 2013.
