UNDER 21 HURLERS

Our under 21 hurlers got their championship campaign off to a great start with victory over Kilmallock last Saturday.

Played in atrocious weather conditions with driving wind and heavy rain.

We played with the wind in the first half and led at the break by 10 points to 5.

Into the teeth of the weather in the second half we battled bravely and a goal mid way through the half from the stick of Matthew DeCourcey put us in control and a lead which we held to the finish .

It was particularly pleasing to see the newer members of the squad getting some game time and excelled with their opportunities especially John Fitzgerald, Dylan Lynch and Jj Carey.

We now face Doon in Kilbreedy on Tuesday at 8pm and Patrickwell next Tuesday(18th) in Rhebogue at 8pm.

Final score Na Piarsaigh 1-18 Kilmallock 1-11
