Galway look set to appoint Shane O’Neill as their next senior hurling manager.
The Limerick man enjoyed a successful stint with his native club Na Piarsaigh after leading them to an All-Ireland SHC title in 2016, along with three county titles and two Munster club successes.
Galway have been on the look-out for a new supremo since Micheál Donoghue’s surprise departure which saw the All-Ireland winning boss vacate his post this past August.
The Tribesmen are the last of the country’s top tier sides to install a manager ahead of the upcoming 2020 campaign.
