INTERMEDIATE HURLERS
Our Intermediate hurlers were in action on Sunday lunchtime when they travelled to Caherconlish for a County quarter final against Hospital Herbertstown
With no fewer than 9 under 21s making up the starting 15 it was a big test for the team.
We started well with points from David Sheppard, Kieran Daly, Sean Long and a brilliant side line cut from Dean Mcloughlin.
Further points from the industrious Adam McNamara and Emmet McEvoy and a second from Seqn Long had us well in control before the concession of a goal.
This gave Hospital Herbertstown some impetus going forward and by the half time whistle we led by 3 points 0-9 to 1-3.
2 quick fire points from Kieran Daly at the start of the second half stretched our lead but our opponents at this stage we livened up.
Sean Long added his third point of the afternoon mid way through the half with Adam Mc and Emmet also adding to their tally.
Our opponents fought hard in the closing minutes but our backs held firm superbly marshalled by Gearoid Synnott and James O Brien down the middle.
Evan Gilvarry and Conor Richardson were also excellent.
Dean Mcloughlin at midfield fought for everything and our half forward line of Kieran Daly, Adam and Sean contributing 9 points in total.
With plenty to work on we now face Glenroe in the County semi final in 2 weeks time in Bruff.
Team: Wvan Condon, Joe Glesson, Gearoid Synnott, Conor Richardson, Evan Gilvarry, James O Brien(capt), Brian Hartnett, Evan O Brien, Dean Mcloughlin, Adam McNamara, Kieran Daly, Sean Long, Emmet McEvoy, Kevin Daly, David Sheppard

UNDER 16 HURLERS
Our Under 16 hurlers were also in action over the weekend when they faced Monaleen in the Vounty Semi final in Claughaun.
Unfortunately things didnt quite do to the plan and the concession of some soft goals put paid to our plans.
However the lads fought to the bitter end with great credit due to all for another good year.
Final Score Na Piarsaigh 1-9 Monaleen 5-11.
