U12 Football Notes

 

On Wednesday night our footballers travelled to Cappagh to take on Cappagh/ Rathkeale Croagh/ Kilfinny. The home side were very strong around the middle area of the field. This did not intimidate our boys who worked very hard through the whole game with them getting a few good scores. The teams were level at the break, but in the second half the home team finished the strongest. Top marks to all our players who gave an excellent account of themselves. The team line-out was as follows: D. O’Connell, G. Farrell, D.J. Cussen, A. O’ Dell, O. Broderick, S. O’Flynn, A. O’Kelly, R. Sheehan, S. Browne, S. Egan, J. Lenihan, R. Jefferies, R. O’Dell, D. U13 Hurling Notes

 

On Monday night our hurlers played there first championship game against the city boys Na Piarsaigh. This game was played in Dromcollogher where it was prestige condition flagged and lined thanks to Jimmy Lacey and Christy Fitzgerald. This game was played at high tempo with great skill on display the scoreline at the break was Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-5 to Na Piarsaigh 1-2 with the home team playing with the breeze. The home team started the second half very strong moving the ball with pace through the lines getting some great scores with Dromcollogher/ Broadford scoring 3-4 to 0-1 from Na Pairsaigh in the second half. When the final whistle was blown Dromcollogher/ Broadford had emerged winners on a scoreline of 4-9 to Na Pairsaigh 1-3. Na Piarsaigh team were been coached by Peter and Mike Casey. After the game Mike and Peter gave a talk to our boys giving them great encouragement and full of praise for them. The line-out was as follows: D. Reidy, G. Farrell, A. Leahy, B. Croke, A. White, C. Results of the 355th draw took place on September 9th, in Foley’s Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 11, 13, 20,25 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €6,400 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Eoin Barry, Broadford and Brian Downes, Dromcollogher, and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday September 16th, in the Corner House, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot is going up to €6,500 and the match three is staying at €100. Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
