This was a very one sided played down in Raheenagh on last Tuesday night we were defeated on the night by far much better and stronger side on the night and the table reads going into the last round of games as follows: Glenroe ten points, Newcastle West 8 points, Feenagh/ Kilmeedy 7 points, Killeedy and Dromcollogher/ Broadford both on six points, Monagea three points, Knockaderry two points and Tournafulla are no points we have Glenroe left to play on Saturday July 13th, in Glenroe, at 7.30pm, please support our Intermediate Hurlers Management team led by Denis O’Carroll and our Intermediate Hurlers led by Séan O’Sullivan Captain.

West Junior A Football Championship Semi-Final

We were defeated by Monagea played down in Newcastle West, on last Thursday night on a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-08, our next game is against Hospital/ Herbertstown, on Thursday August 1st, venue and time to be announced, in the County Junior A Football Championship Group 2 Round 2.  Please Support our Junior A Footballers Management Team led by Garrett Noonan and our Junior A Footballers.

All County Football League Division 1 Round 4

Our Senior Footballers got their first competitive win of the year against Ballysteen on Monday night against Ballysteen on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-05 with our two goals coming from Séan O’Sullivan and Declan Stack, at half-time the scoreline read 0-6 to 0-4 with Dromcollogher Broadford leading by two points at the break with our six points in the first half coming from Paul Madigan 3 points, Derry McCarthy 2 points and Damien Burke point.  In the second half we out-scored Ballysteen by 2-5 to 1-1 with our second half goals coming from Séan O’Sullivan and Declan Stack and the five points came from Derry McCarthy 2 points, Cillian Fahy 2 points and Paul Madigan a point and our last game of the league takes place on this coming Tuesday night against Fr. Casey’s, in Fr. Casey’s GAA Pitch, Abbeyfeale, at 7.30pm referee Owen Curtin.  Please Support our Senior Footballers Management Team led by Mike Fahy and our Senior Footballers led by Derry McCarthy Captain.

We were defeated by Newcastle West on a scoreline of 1-19 to 3-11 with our three first goals all coming from Ray Lynch, at half-time the scoreline of was Newcastle West 1-13 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-6 with our three goals coming from Ray Lynch and our points coming from Thomas Fitzgerald and Evan Murphy 2 points each and Ray Lynch and Declan Stack a point each.  In the second half Newcastle West scored 6 points to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 5 points and our five points came from Thomas Fitzgerald three points and Darren Boyce and Evan Murphy a point each.

U12 football Notes

On Thursday night last our footballers were at home to Monagea. The Monagea team were very strong in most areas of the field, they were full of energy up and down the field with them picking off a few nice scores. Credit to our boys they kept working very hard in the very hot temperatures. Our boys got a few great scores of their own and never gave up until the final whistle. The line-out was as follows. D. O’Connell, R. Jefferies, D.J. Cussen, A. O’ Dell, O. Broderick, R. Sheehan, A. O’Kelly, S. O’Flynn, J. Lenihan, S. Egan, C. Burke, S. Browne, R O’Dell, O. Stokes and D. Fealy.

The Billy Biggane Tournament 2019

The Billy Biggane tournament was held, on Tuesday 2nd July 2019, in Dromcollogher GAA pitch, as part of the Dromcollogher Carnival 2019 schedule. The teams that participated were hosts Dromcollogher/ Broadford, and neighbouring clubs of Feohanagh/ Castlemahon, Feenagh/ Kilmeedy and Tournafulla. It was an exciting evening of hurling, where these U10 teams got to show off their hurling skills. They showed pure determination, speed and teamwork in getting the results they needed to progress through the competition. Dromcollogher/ Broadford won against a very strong Tournafulla, in the final. They got to retain the cup for a second year in a row, under Capt. Sean O'Flynn, along with his team mates, Ben Lenihan, Muiris McCarthy, Anthony Cashman, Alan Cussen, Colin Burke, Tiernan O' Flynn, Alex O'Sullivan, Conor McGarry, Michael O' Kelly, Brian Burke, Dylan Boyce, Aaron Sheehan, Caolan Boyce, Liam Wright, Fia Lenihan, Emma O'Brien and Ronan White. We would like to take this opportunity to thank, the coaches, the families, the supporters, the Dromcollogher/ Broadford Club members who helped out on the day, setting the pitch and refereeing. The Carnival Committee members who supplied the medals and a huge thank you to the Biggane Family. Finally, we would like to thank all our young players on the day, for participating and make us all proud.

Results of the 345th draw took place on July 1st, in Foley’s Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 2, 3, 6, 19 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €5,400 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Geraldine Neenan, Broadford and Mary Casey, Dromcollogher, and the next draw took place Monday July 8th, in the Green Bar, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot is going was at €5,500 and the match three is stayed at €100.  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

 

Results of the 346th draw took place on July 8th, in The Green Bar, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 12, 21, 25, 30 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €5,500 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Paddy Brosnan, Milford and Michael Ryan, Dromcollogher, and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday July 15th, in Begley’s Bar, Broadford and the Jackpot is going to €5,600 and the match three is staying at €100.  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

To the Limerick Senior Hurlers Management Team led by John Kiely (Galbally) and The Limerick Senior Hurlers led by Declan Hannon (Adare) Captain and especially to John Cregan (Chairman of the County Board) against Tipperary, we defeated Tipperary on a scoreline of 2-26 to 1-14, in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final.

 

To the Limerick U20 Footballers Management Team led by Jerry O’Sullivan (Newcastle West) and Limerick U20 Footballers and especially our club player James Molyneaux and especially John Cregan (Chairman of the Limerick County Board) against Tipperary, we defeated by Cork on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-12, James started at full-forward and scored two points, in the U20 Munster Football Championship Quarter Final.
