Centre-forward Darragh Flynn converted a long range stoppage time free to earn Cork a share of the spoils against Limerick in today’s curtain-raiser at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.
An entertaining encounter finished with the sides level on a scoreline of Cork 1-16, Limerick 0-19.
The impressive Flynn also netted the game’s only goal which arrived in the opening period but the Rebels trailed by 1-5 to 0-9 at the change of ends.
It was advantage to the home side entering injury-time but Flynn displayed nerves of steel to level matters right at the death.
Left half-forward Cathal O’Neill top scored for the home side with a return of nine points, eight of which came from placed balls.
