Membership 2019

 

Membership is now due and can be completed online. To register please go to the St Kieran’s Facebook or Twitter page and click on the membership link attached. There is a whatsapp link. Once opened the CLUBFORCE system will take you step by step through each part of the process and notify the club of your registration.

 

Membership must be paid on a date prior to March 31st and only members who have paid their fees by this date will receive the benefits of membership and will be entitled to be included in a draw for match tickets where demand exceed supply i.e. Munster and All Ireland Finals etc.

2: Alternatively, the Clubforce app is available to download on Apple and Android devices.

Limerick GAA Development Draw:

 

The Limerick Development Draw continues to be a vital source of income for the Club with 60% of the draw income being returned to the Club. We pride ourselves on having one of the largest memberships throughout the county and we are very grateful to our members for their continued support for the draw each year. We would also encourage those who are not already involved to consider joining the Draw, in doing so you are directly supporting St. Kieran’s and St. Kieran’s Bord na nÓg. The Limerick Development Draw (formerly known as the Mackey Draw) can also be paid online through the Clubforce website / App

St. Kieran’s Victory Social 2019:

Following the victorious end to the 2018 season in which the senior footballers bridged a twenty-five-year gap to secure the West Senior Football Championship with victory over Newcastlewest and the U21 footballers captured the West U21 ‘A’ title following victory over St. Senan’s we will be holding a medal presentation on Saturday February 23 in the Ballintemple Inn, Newcastlewest. In addition, the 2017 u21 footballers will be presented with their County U21 ‘B’ Championship medals. Also, on the night there will be a special presentation to highlight the highly successful year of 1974 culminating with the 1974 junior football panel who enjoyed west and county championship success being honoured. Admission on the night is free and we will also be holding a raffle in which we will have a signed jersey from the Limerick senior hurlers on offer.

West U21 B Hurling Championship:

For the first time in a long number of years, we fielded an u21 hurling team on our own last Saturday in the first round of the West u21 hurling championship. It was played in Mountcollins against Daithi Broudairs who are a Drom/Broadford/Feenagh/Kilmeedy combination team.  
 
On the day we were well beaten but for many of our fellas it was their first game of hurling in quite a while. Daithi Broudairs had a blistering first quarter and were lethal in front of goal. After the first quarter, our boys settled, and we had a goal from Denis Cronin and some nice points from Edward Fitz, Eoin McEnery, Liam Liston and John Buckley before half time.  
 
Again, in the second half our fellas never gave up and we moved the ball well at times. We had a nicely taken goal from Eoin McEnery half way through the second half. Others to play well were Cillian Ambrose, Eamon Ambrose, Diarmuid Mulcahy and Aaron O Connor. 
 
This was an exceptionally young u21 team with over half the team still minors in 2019. The final score line doesn’t do justice to the effort and commitment shown by the 16 players we had available on the day.  
 
We are playing Askeaton this coming weekend and hopefully we’ll see more improvement again. Training for minor and u21 hurlers on Thursday night in the Astro turf from 7.30 to 8.30. Thanks to all the players for their commitment so far.

 

ADRSC AstroTurf:

After months of hard work and preparation the new ADRSC Astroturf facility is up and running and in full use. The facility is providing a wonderful amenity for all sporting organisations within the local community and it is great to see it being availed of in such high demand in recent weeks. Due to the increasing demand for the facility it is vital to make a booking in advance which can be done very easily on the online booking system. As a club it is great to see so many of our teams availing of the facility which will now allow our array of teams to train year-round. In order to book a time slot, go to the ADRSC website.

 

Intercounty Action:

Darragh Treacy and Sean McSweeney once again lined out for the Limerick senior football team this past Sunday when they made the long journey to Aughrim to play Wicklow in round 3 of the Allianz National Football League, unfortunately following two excellent opening round victories over London and Waterford respectively, Limerick came out on the wrong side of a five-point defeat. Next up for Limerick in round 4 is a home tie with high-flying Leitrim who are currently top of the league following the opening three rounds in two weeks’ time.

 

 

GAA National Club Draw 2019:  
St. Kieran’s GAA Club is participating in the 2019 GAA National club draw, this is an excellent initiative run by GAA Headquarters in Croke Park whereby clubs receive all proceeds generated from their ticket sales. Tickets are €10 and are currently in distribution and can be purchased from all club officials and players. We would greatly appreciate your support for the draw as all funds raised go directly into the running of the club and are a vital source of income. There is a wide array of prizes on offer ranging from a 2019 Renault Clio 4 Expression to shopping vouchers and All Ireland Senior Hurling and Football final packages.
