Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

 

Results of the 317th draw took place on Monday December 17th, in Begley’s Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 8, 14, 28,29 there was no winner of the jackpot at €2,700 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Kathleen Costello, North Road, Dromcollogher and Mike O’Mara, Dromcollogher, Christmas Draw: Jamie Noonan, Castlemahon, Eugene Sullivan, Meelin, Joan Galvin, Castleishion, Dromcollogher, Promoters draw: Christine McCarthy, Dromcollogher, Bridie Noonan, Dromcollogher, Maurice Browne, Broadford and Moloney’ Shop, Broadford and the next draw is taking place on this coming Wednesday January 3rd, The Green Bar, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot is going up to €2,800 and the match three is staying at €100.  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

 

AGM

 

The Annual General Meeting of Dromcollogher/ Broadford will took place on Sunday last December 16th, in the Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Clubhouse, Dromcollogher the following officers were elected on the night.  Chairman: John Stack, Vice Chairman: Mike Barrett, Secretary: Jim Barry, Asst. Secretary: Denis O’Carroll, Treasurer: Geraldine O’Sullivan, Asst. Treasurer: John Cregan, PRO and Registrar: Gareth Meaney, Irish Officer: to be confirmed, Children’s Officer’s to be confirmed, Health and Wellbeing Officer: Adrian Cahill, Coaching Officer: James Noonan Committee: Garry Noonan, Séamus Lordan, Jim Barry, Kevin Noonan, Kevin McGill, Garrett Noonan, Murt Madden, Fr. O’Dea, Tommie Reidy, Jimmy Lacey, Maurice Browne, Mikey Browne, Tom O’Callaghan, Séamus Lordan, John Brudair and Seanie Buckley.

 

 

Pro Report 2018

 

We had five trophies this year in the club as mentioned below in my report and they were the County Junior B Football Championship we defeated Granagh/ Ballingarry on a scoreline of 0-13 to 2-06, West Junior A Football League we defeated Fr. Casey’s on a scoreline of 5-11to 0-14, West U21 B Hurling Championship on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-11, U14 All County Football Shield Division 2 we defeated Oola on a scoreline 3-5 to 0-10, U13 All County Hurling Division 3 we defeated Hospital/ Herbertstown on a scoreline of 4-11 to 3-03

 

West Senior Football Championship

 

We lost to St. Kieran’s in the Quarter Final on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-07.

 

County Senior Football Championship

 

We were drawn in a group of Adare, Na Pairsaigh, Ballylanders, St. Senan’s and Monaleen.

 

In round 1 we lost to Adare on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-08 and then in round 2 we defeated Na Pairsaigh on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-6.  In round 3 we lost to Ballylanders on a scoreline of 0-19 to 1-10 with our goal coming from Cillian Fahy and then in round 4 we lost to St. Senan’s on a scoreline of 3-12 to 0-10.  In Round 5 we lost to Monaleen on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-12 with our goal coming from Ray Lynch.

 

County Senior Football League

 

In round 1 we drew with to Monaleen on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-10.  In round 2 we lost to Newcastle West on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-1 with the goal coming from Damien Lacey and then in round 3 we defeated St. Kieran’s on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-10 with the goals coming from Micheál Brosnan and Damien Lacey.  In round 4 we defeated St. Senan’s on a scoreline of 1-14 to 2-07 with the goal coming from Derry McCarthy and then in round 5 we lost to Rathkeale by 1-16 to 3-16 with our goal coming from Kevin Noonan and then in the seventh and final round we received a walkover from St. Patrick’s.

 

West Junior A Football League

 

In Round 1 we received a walkover from Newcastle West, in Round 2 we defeated Fr. Casey’s on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-5 with two of these goals coming from Patrick Donnelly and the other goal coming from Séan Brosnan.  In round 3 we defeated Cappagh on a scoreline of 4-10 to 3-11 with two of our goals coming from Colin Lordan and the other goals coming from Jason Stokes and Marty Stokes. In the final we defeated Fr. Casey’s on a scoreline of 5-11 to 0-14. 

West Junior B Football Championship

 

In round 1 we had a bye and then in round 2 we got a walkover from St. Senan’s.  In round 3 we defeated Granagh/ Ballingarry of 2-12 to 1-12 with both our goals coming from John O’Kelly and then in round 4 we defeated Mountcollins on a scoreline of 5-12 to 0-04 and with two of these goals coming from Declan Stack and the other goals came from Brian Noonan, Donal Molyneaux and Jason Stokes.  In the Semi-Final we defeated St. Kieran’s on a scoreline of 0-16 to 2-04 and in the final, we played against Granagh/ Ballingarry, this ended in a draw 3-13 to 2-16 with our goals coming from Bob Boyce, Killian Lynch and Micheál Reidy and then in replay we lost to Granagh/ Ballingarry on a scoreline of 3-11 to 2-09 with our goals coming from Micheál Reidy and Niall O’Brien.

 

County Junior B Football Championship

 

In the Quarter Final we defeated Castletown on a scoreline of 0-5 to 0-4, in the Semi-Final we defeated Na Pairsaigh on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-06 with our goals coming from John O’Kelly and Bob Boyce.  In the final we defeated Granagh/ Ballingarry which was reversal of the West Final replay on a score line of 0-13 to 2-06, with our points coming from John O’Kelly 5 points, Micheal Reidy 3 points, Patrick Donnelly 2 points, Jason Stokes, Killian Lynch and Donal Molyneaux all a point each.

 

West Intermediate Hurling Championship

 

In the Quarter Final we lost to Knockaderry on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-16, with our goal coming from Conor Brosnan.

 

County Intermediate Hurling Championship

 

In Round 1we lost to St. Patrick’s on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-12 and in round 2 we lost to Dromin/ Athlacca on a scoreline of 2-14 to 3-6 with all three goals coming from Micheal O’Sullivan. In Round 3 we lost to Croom on a scoreline 4-11 to 2-13 our goals came from Michael O’Sullivan and Derry McCarthy and then in round 4 we defeated Hospital/ Herbertstown on a scoreline of 1-19 to 1-12 with our goal coming from Michael O’Sullivan and then in the fifth and final round we lost to Knockaderry on a scoreline of 3-14 to 0-14. In the relegation Final we drew with Claghaun/ Old Christians on a scoreline of 4-13 to 3-16 with two of these goals coming from Micheal O’Sullivan and the other goals coming from Damien Lacey and Micheál Brosnan and then in the replay we defeated Claghaun/ Old Christians with the points coming Derry McCarthy 11 points, Damien Lacey 3 points, Micheál Brosnan, Keith Lacey and Damien Burke all 2 points each and Garrett Noonan a point.  

County Division 3 Hurling League

 

In Round 1 we lost to Croom on a scoreline of 1-22 to 0-11 and in round 2 we gave a walkover to Cappamore.  In Round 3 we defeated Blackrock by 0-22 to 2-11 and in round 4 we lost to Pallasgreen on a scoreline of 3-16 to 1-09 with our goal coming from Michael O’Sullivan.  In Round 5 we gave a walkover to Dromin/ Athlacca and in round 6 we lost to Feohanagh on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-15.  In the 7th and final round we lost to Bruff on a scoreline of 2-27 to 1-18.

 

U21 West Football Championship

 

In Round 1 we lost to Athea on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-12 and in round 2 we lost to St. Senan’s on a scoreline of 2-11 to 3-06 with our goals coming from Jack Pierce, Brian Stack and Damien Burke. In third and final round we drew with Granagh/ Ballingarry/ Banogue on a score line of 10 points each and then we lost in the B Final we lost to Clann Na Ngael on a score line of 2- 6 to 1-5 with our goal coming from Damien Burke.

 

U21 West B Hurling Championship

 

In Round 1 we had a bye and in round 2 we received a walkover from Askeaton/ St. Kieran’s.  Then in round 3 we defeated Templeglantine on a scoreline of 2-16 to 3-09 and then in the final we defeated Templeglantine on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-11 Denis Donegan and Séan Kelly.

 

U21 County B Hurling Championship

 

In the Semi-Final we lost to Hospital/ Herbertstown on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-12 with our goal coming from Jack O’Sullivan.

 

West Minor A Football Championship

 

In round 1 we defeated Ballysteen on a scoreline of 5-08 to 3-11, with four out of our five goals coming from Darragh Stack and the other goal coming from Colm Ryan from penalty and in round 2 we lost to St. David’s on a scoreline of 2-08 to 6-10 with our goals coming from Darragh Stack and Shane Ryan.  In round 3 we received a walkover from Adare and in the semi-final, we lost to Ballysteen on a scoreline of 4-09 to 8-10 with three of these goals coming from Colm Ryan and the other goal coming from James Molyneaux. 

West Minor Hurling Championship

 

In Round 1 we lost to Croagh/ Kilfinny/ Rathkeale on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-03 and then in round 2 we lost to Templeglantine on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-10.  In Round 3 we defeated Killeedy/ Tournafulla on a scoreline of 5-11 to 1-09, Shane Ryan, Brian Stack, Kenny Lynch, Séan Kelly and Jack Roche getting the goals and in Round 4 we lost to Granagh/ Ballingarry on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-10 with our goal coming from Séan Kelly.  In Round 5 we defeated Askeaton/ St. Kieran’s on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-09 and in round 6 lost to Newcastle West on a scoreline of 5-16 to 5-13 with two of these goals coming from Brian Stack and the other goals coming from Darren Wright, Colm Ryan and Darragh Stack.  In seventh and final round we defeated Knockaderry/ Monagea on a scoreline of 3-13 to 4-08 and in the semi-final, we lost to Croagh/ Kilfinny/ Rathkeale on a scoreline of 1-14 to 2-5 with our goals coming from Darren Wright and Colm Ryan.

 

County Teams (Senior Club)

 

This year we had a lot of players on county teams, from the club, in the Senior Football team Garrett Noonan and Cillian Fahy they lost to Clare on a scoreline of 1-23 to 0-14 and then in qualifiers they lost to Mayo on a scoreline of 5-19 to 3-07, In Minor Football we had James Molyneaux, Jack Pierce and Colm Ryan we lost to Clare in the Quarter Final on a scoreline of 3-13 to 2-09, in the play-off we lost to Tipperary on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-11 and also it was great honour to the have the County Board Chairman John Cregan as a member of our club after bringing back the Liam McCarthy after 45 years they defeated Galway on a scoreline of 3-16 to 2-18.

Liam McCarthy Cup Came to the Parish

 
The Liam McCarthy Cup and members of the winning All Ireland hurling panel were honoured on last Thursday, December 13th and the above club would like to thank Tom Condon and Kevin Downes and also the members of the Dromcollogher/ Broadford Coiste Na Nóg GAA Club and member of Dromcollogher/ Broadford Ladies Football Club were received there medals and certs on the night and the above club would like to thank Gearóid Hegarty and Séamus Flanagan for visiting the Dromcollogher and Broadford National Schools, Broadford Creche and Broadford Day Care Centre and also Hazelwood College on Friday last.

The Denis Law Memorial Match will take place on Saturday December 29th, in Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Grounds, Dromcollogher, at a time to be announced and this will be proceeded by The Annual Race Night which will also take place on Saturday December 29th, in Neenan’s Bar, Broadford, time to be confirmed.
