Galbally club notes

December 17, 2018

The Galbally GAA Split the Pot fundraiser commenced at the weekend, taking place at O’Connell’s bar. The total pot was €624 and Anne O’Sullivan was the lucky winner of the €312 split. We wish her well and hope she enjoys the winnings over the Christmas period. It is hoped that each winner will be available on the following Saturday night at the next draw to be presented with their prize. However we are conscious that this may not always suit everyone and therefore alternative arrangements will be made. The buckets are in a number of locations locally, Frasers Bar, O’Connells Bar, The Abbey Bar, Catherine O’Neills Shop, Mike Cummins Shop, Willie Barry Butchers, The Foxes Den in Knockcarron, Galbally Chipper, Kathleen Frazer-Mulvey’s Coffey Shop and Tracy Henebry Hair Salon. We thank everyone for their support of this concept, and we are only too delighted to be in a position to provide winners every week.

Galbally have offered not to accept the cup, and to replay the County Under 21 Football Final and it is fixed for this Thursday night 20th December. Stay tuned to social media and texts for further updates closer to the date as final confirmed venue and time may be weather dependent.

The underage medal presentation took place in Knocklong recently and is a vital event to preserve the interest of underage players into the future. Galbally GAA are interested in getting new underage officers and trainers involved. Contact Tom Quinlan or Elaine Beston if interested. Any adult players interested in getting involved in coaching should also make contact.
