This was a very tight with sides being level on 14 occasions during the game, and the only goal of the game coming from Ian McNamara of Claughaun/ Old Christians and 11 our points came Derry McCarthy and the other points came for us came from Damien Lacey 3 points, Keith Lacey, Damien Burke and Micheál Brosnan all 2 points each and the other point came form Garret Noonan and the above club would like to thank the management team of Tom McLoughlin, Joe Daly and Pat McCarthy for all their help and effort during the year and also to the panel of players led by James Noonan captain.

 

Ken Byrnes of Claughaun/ Old Christians and Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points and then Ken Howard of Claughaun/ Old Christians and Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher exchanged points to keep the sides on level terms for the second time during the game.  Damien Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Emmet Harty of Claughaun/ Old Christians exchanged points and then Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Thomas Byrnes of Claughaun/ Old Christians exchanged points to bring sides back on level terms for the fourth time during the game.   Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Cian Granham exchanged points and then Ian McNamara of Claughaun/ Old Christians and Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points to bring the sides on level terms for the sixth time during the game.    Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Ian McNamara of Claughaun/ Old Christians exchanged points and Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Kevin Howard of Claughaun/ Old Christians exchanged points to bring sides back on level terms for eight time during the game.   Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Ian McNamara of Claughaun/ Old Christians exchanged points just the break to bring sides on level terms for 9th time during the game.  To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-9 to Claughaun/ Old Christians 0-9. 

 

Damien Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Ian McNamara of Claughaun/ Old Christians and then Emmet Harty of Claughaun/ Old Christians and Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged to bring the sides back on level terms for 11th time during the game.  Killian Hannon of Claughaun/ Old Christians and Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the three points with two these points coming from Derry McCarthy and the other point came from Damien Burke to leave three points between the sides.  Damien Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Ken Byrnes of Claughaun/ Old Christians exchanged points and then Claughaun/ Old Christians scored the next 1-2 with the goal coming from Ian McNamara and the points came from Ken Byrnes and Ian McNamara to give them a lead of three points with 57 minutes gone in the game.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from Garrett Noonan and Derry McCarthy to leave a point between the sides and then Ian McNamara scored another pointed free for Claughaun/ Old Christians to leave two points between the sides.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to lead by a point with two of these points coming from Derry McCarthy his second point was the from midfield and the other point came form Damien Burke to give us victory and to secure our place intermediate hurling for another year.  To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-21 to Claughaun/ Old Christians 1-17.

U10 notes

 

on Saturday morning our U10s travelled to Tracton to take on the local team in both hurling and football.  We had a panel of 18 on the day our first stop was McDonald's in Turner's cross.  After all the boys were fed we travelled to Tracton when we arrived we were met by a former Drom/Broadford stalwart Eamon Scollard now living in Tracton.  We then divided into two teams of nine each player played a hurling and football match they were very enjoyable games. Once both games were finished there was a photo taken of Tracton and Drom/Broadford together we were then treated with tea and refreshments afterwards. On behalf of the group we would like to thank Tracton for their hospitality on the day. This was the most enjoyable day out for players, coaches and supporters it was a great bonding session and then all the players got a treat on the way home. The players on the day were: S. Browne, R. U10 Football Notes

 

On Saturday 13th of October our U10 footballers were invited to take part in a football blitz in Newcastle West. We had two teams on the day our in pitch 3 our Dromcollogher/ Broadford team took on Feohanagh/ Castlemahon, St. Kieran’s and the host team Newcastle West. Our other team played Newcastle West, Athea and St. Kieran’s. All our players put in a great display in all 3 three games. This blitz was brilliantly organised by Newcastle West. A big thanks to Maire Cussen for the invite and to the club for all the treats and refreshments for players coaches and mentors.

 

Congratulations

 

To our Intermediate Hurlers Management team led by Tom McLoughlin and our Intermediate Hurlers led by James Noonan Captain against Claughaun/ Old Christians, we defeated Claughaun/ Old Christians on a scoreline of 0-21 to 1-17, in the County Intermediate Hurling Championship Regulation Final Replay.

Results of the 310th draw took place on Monday October 15th, in The Corner House, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 13, 17, 22, 31 there was no winner of the jackpot at €1,800 and there were three winners of match three at €100 no winner the two lucky dips of €50 each and they were: Ed and Thomas Moloney C/O the Shop, Beal An Atha and Martina Molyneaux and the next draw will take place in Neenan’s Bar, Broadford, on this coming Monday night October 22nd and the Jackpot is going up to €1,900 and the match three is staying at €100.  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
