Caherline Club Notes

October 08, 2018

GAA LOTTO: No winner, numbers drawn were 18, 23, 24, 28. Lucky dip winners were Pat Keogh, Marian Kennedy, Willie Cussen, Joy Creamer & Ger Coffey. Next weeks jackpot will be €2,100 and the draw will be held on Friday night in Mulcahys Bar.

U-12 HURLING: The annual Phil Power Cup took place on Sunday evening last in Caherconlish, as we welcomed Cappamore Gaa U-12's to our field. What unfolded was a great game of hurling, end to end stuff, with great skill & determination from both sides. Caherline had a healthy lead at half time, 2-01 to 0-01 up, but Cappamore fought back in the 2nd half and but for some heroics in defence and in particular Thomas Carroll between the posts, Cappamore would surely have scored a few more goals. Our midfield did some great sweeping around the field too and the lads up front had the Cappamore defence under pressure for most of the game. On the final whistle, our vice-captains Jamie Boland & Sam McElligott gratefully accepted the Phil Power Cup from Betty Power. A super team effort, well done to the entire panel, the future looks bright! Thanks to Cappamore Gaa for coming over, as they've done every year to fulfill this fixture. The club would also like to thank referee Brian Higgins for supporting the fixture.
