Kildimo/Pallaskenry Club Notes

August 13, 2018

LIMERICK SENIOR HURLERS: Next Sunday sees the Limerick senior hurlers face into their first All-Ireland final since 2007, as they play the reigning All-Ireland champions, Galway. It has been a hugely successful year for Limerick so far, building on U-21 All-Ireland victories in 2015 and 2017, and we are immensely proud to have two players involved, in the form of Kyle Hayes and Barry O'Connell. Everyone at the club and in the parish would like to wish the lads the very best of luck, and hopefully they can bring Liam McCarthy home! Best of luck also to Ruairí Maher who is a member of John Kiely's performance analysis team, and who has played an invaluable role in this year's journey to All-Ireland Sunday! Luimneach abú!

UP FOR THE FINAL: We are delighted to announce that we are hosting an All-Ireland Final "Up for the Match" preview on Thursday, August 16 in the Seven Sisters, kicking off at 8.45pm.

Special guests include Clare's All-Ireland winning captain of 2013, Pat Donnellan, last year's Limerick senior hurling captain, James Ryan, 2-time All-Star, Mark Foley, as well as the legendary Tom Ryan, with Martin Kiely as MC! There will also be the chance to win 2 stand tickets for the All-Ireland final!

It's sure to be a great night with plenty of craic; tickets are just €10. There are limited spaces so book quickly from the Seven Sisters or from John Chawke, David O'Connor or Tony O'Brien.

LEAVING CERT RESULTS: We'd like to wish all club members who are due to receive their Leaving Cert results on Wednesday the very best of luck!

MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 0-14 Cois Laoi Gaels 0-14. Our minors remain unbeaten in this year's Hurling Championship as they played out a hard-fought draw with Cois Laoi Gaels last Friday evening.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: Our junior footballers are in action this week, as they face Newcastlewest next Thursday evening in the Bog Garden, Rathkeale with throw-in at 7pm. This is their third Championship match, and a win would definitely help the lads on their way to the knockout stages again. Please come out and support!

PREMIER INTERMEDIATE HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Our next Championship fixture in the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship is set to take place on the weekend ending September 2, which is just over two weeks away. Date and venue to be confirmed.

FAMILY FUN DAY: Countdown is also on until our 2018 Family Fun Day, which is due to take place on Sunday September 2. Last year's event was a great success, so hopefully we can emulate and surpass that this year!

Events will include the sponsored Fun Run; matches featuring our Bord na nOg stars from U-6 to U-14, bouncy castles, farm animals, shopping basket challenge, square ball, local artisan market, plenty of delicious food and much much more! Hope to see you all there!
