Limerick full back Mike Casey has stressed that unless they confirm their place in the Munster SHC final this weekend, then there is no point in getting carried away with their form so far this year.

The Shannonsiders have earned rave reviews for their performances in the Munster SHC so far as they remain unbeaten after three games.

However, they must go to Cusack Park, Ennis this Sunday to take on a Clare side that are also seeking a place in the provincial final.

With Cork expected to defeat an already eliminated Waterford side, the clash between Clare and Limerick is effectively a provincial semi-final.

And Casey told the Limerick Leader that the players were certainly not getting carried away as they know they have a big task this weekend.

"The job isn't done yet," said Casey. "It's us and Clare for a Munster final. It's sold out and it will be a big one - they are our neighbours and we always appear to produce good games.

"We have our goals and our targets and we want to achieve. We don't want to be the Limerick of old - just competing. We want to win things - we have done that at underage and it's about time we brought that into the senior. No one has as much expectations as the lads in the dressingroom. Everyone can talk us up but we have our own expectation and we believe we are a good bunch of players - we work hard for our team and for the process."
