Kildimo/Pallaskenry GAA Club Notes

May 21, 2018

CITY JUNIOR A FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1-08 Monaleen 3-13. There was disappointment yesterday evening as our Corner House-sponsored footballers fell to Monaleen in their first game of the season in the City League. Missing a number of players for various reasons, it was still good for the lads to get a game under their belt having had a disrupted season thus far. Championship is set to begin in July, and preparations have begun to get ready for our first outing against one of the favourites, Kilteely/Dromkeen!

INTERCOUNTY REPRESENTATION: It was a great weekend of intercounty action, and we were honoured to have so many players involved. In total, we had nine different players involved with various Limerick teams at the weekend which is a tribute to all their hard work and efforts put in over the last while (I apologise if I have forgotten anyone).

Senior Hurlers- Kyle Hayes and Barry O'Connell

Senior Footballers- Peter Nash and Tony McCarthy

Minor Hurlers- James Mason

U-16 Football- Mícheál Cuddihy

U-16 Hurling- Aaron O'Donovan

U-15 Football- Cillian O'Farrell and Garry Sheehan

U-8 & U-10 HURLERS & FOOTBALLERS: Our U-8 'White' team, as well as our U-10s were in action during the week; with yet another blitz, this time in Ballinacurra. Our U-10s also hosted a visiting side from Tipperary in Kildimo ahead of Sunday's intercounty action.

U-12 HURLERS: Our U-12s had another hurling game during the week, as they faced Doon.

U-6/U-8/U-10 TRAINING: A reminder that training for U-6s to U-10s has changed to Pallaskenry for the month of May.

BÓRD NA NÓG COACHING: We are still looking for more parents to get involved with coaching our underage teams. Everyone is welcome, and it is a great opportunity to get involved in the community, foster the skills of our underage players and build a brighter future for the club. We are currently seeing the rewards of many years of hard work with two current intercounty hurlers, and two intercounty footballers; but this can all be traced back to efforts put in by parents and mentors at underage level in the club. We need to ensure that these efforts are continued so that there will not be any lapse in the developing of underage talent in the club.
