Team news: Another Brennan brother for Clare

May 18, 2018

Clare's Cillian Brennan.

A younger brother of captain Gary, Cillian Brennan is among five championship debutants in the Clare team named to face Limerick.

In his first year playing for the county seniors, Clondegad clubman Brennan will line-out at full-back in tomorrow's Munster SFC quarter-final tie at the Gaelic Grounds, with Gary leading by example from midfield.

A third Brennan brother, Shane, has been sidelined with a long-term foot injury he sustained in the provincial semi-final defeat to Kerry last year.

Eamon Tubridy (Doonbeg), Aaron Fitzgerald (Eire Og), Kieran Malone (Miltown-Malbay) and Eibhin Courtney (Eire Og) are the other newcomers in Colm Collins' starting 15.

Clare (Munster SFC v Limerick): Eamon Tubridy; Gordon Kelly, Cillian Brennan, Eoghan Collins; Pearse Lillis, Aaron Fitzgerald, Cian O'Dea; Gary Brennan, Cathal O'Connor; Kieran Malone, Eoin Cleary, Jamie Malone; Eibhin Courtney, Keelan Sexton, David Tubridy.
